AN EXPERIENCED TEAM
FOR YOUR LEGAL MATTERS

A solid reputation

In October 1987, Claude Dumais and Christian Giard, as newly qualified notaries, founded Dumais & Giard. Their first offices were located on Masson Street in Montreal, and a year later the firm moved to its present location on Sherbrooke Street. Over the years, the firm has known consistent growth, and in order to respond to the needs of its clientele, the cofounders welcome Mtre Geneviève Godin, specialized in capacities and persons law as well as succession law.

Concerned about the future of the profession, the cofounders act on several occasions as training supervisors, and welcome Mtre Josianne Gelfusa and Mtre Sukran Aydik as new team members. In May 2017, Mtre Geneviève Godin and Mtre Josianne Gelfusa become owners of the firm. Dumais & Giard has earned an enviable position in its fields of expertise thanks to the exceptional service delivered by its team of professionals.

A PLEDGE OF EXCELLENCE

Dumais & Giard has won the Consumers’ Choice Award in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 in the Notaries category for the Island of Montreal. This award recognizes brand reputation, customer satisfaction and business excellence.

New office on the South Shore

An agreement has been concluded in October 2019 with Mtre Marie-Michèle Daviau from the firm Daviau & Gareau, located in Varennes on the South Shore. Further to a new direction in her career, Mtre Marie-Michèle Daviau proudly passes on the torch to the team of Dumais & Giard, thus ensuring the continuity of the services at the office of Varennes by a team of professionals whose firm has won the Consumers’ Choice Award four consecutive years.

The new office in Varennes will from now on be called D & G, notaries and legal advisors. The new owners, Mtre Geneviève Godin and Mtre Josianne Gelfusa, are happy to welcome Mtre Flavie Roy from the office of Varennes as a new team member.
